As the halfway point in the NFL season approaches, the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts remain the only unbeaten teams in the league. Both sides look like major contenders to make the Super Bowl on 7 February 2010 in Miami.

The New England Patriots and their quarterback Tom Brady also appear to be hitting form after their victory over Tampa Bay in London, and NFL legend Brett Favre has led the Minnesota Vikings to the second best record in the NFC.

As ever, the unpredictability of the NFL is sure to keep fans entertained through to the end of the season.

A new Sunday night show on BBC 5 live sports extra will bring live NFL commentary on a weekly basis to UK gridiron fans.

Gary Lineker presents highlights and goals from the weekend’s Premier League action in Saturday’s Match of the Day (2230 GMT and Sunday, 0735 on BBC One/online).

Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield. The Reds came from 2-0 down to beat City at Eastlands last year but the 1-1 draw at home was a major setback to their title hopes.

Wolves make their first Premier League visit to Stamford Bridge while Arsenal visit Sunderland, who held them to a draw home and away last season.

Everton face Manchester United at Old Trafford, a place where the visitors have not won for 17 years.
